The following one-day workshops will bring together scientists to share scientific advances on specific fungal species or topics:

Satellite workshops will be held at the SOWI Campus, Universität Innsbruck.
The registration fee for each workshop is EUR 95,00. The fee includes coffee breaks and light lunch at the SoWi University of Innsbruck.

The workshops will be open for registration on September 1st, 2022.
Opening of a workshop may be contingent on a sufficient number of registrants.

Please note: It is not possible to register only for satellite workshops. For booking a satellite workshop it is mandatory to register for the whole conference in person. Satellite Workshops are not offered virtually.

OVERVIEW

Short workshop descriptions you will find below:

ASPERFEST19

 supported by bartelt

 supported by  novozymes

The 19th International Aspergillus Meeting (Asperfest19) will take place on March 4 and 5, 2023. The meeting will include a poster session and welcome reception on Saturday evening March 4 (17:00-20:00) and talks on Sunday March 5. Participants will share current research on Aspergillus species. Abstracts for Asperfest19 may be submitted using the ECFG16 abstract submission form.

Chair: Richard Todd, Local organizer: Fabio Gsaller

Programme: Asperfest workshop

FUSARIUM WORKSHOP

The Fusarium workshop will take place on March 5, 2023. The purpose of this workshop is the lively exchange of expertise and current research on the genus Fusarium. For this, we are welcoming oral contributions covering all relevant aspects including but not limited to genetics, gene regulation, functional genomics, evolution, taxonomy, genome dynamics, host-pathogen interactions, secondary metabolites as well as genetic exploitation for applied and industrial mycology. In addition to regular oral communications, several abstracts will be selected for 5min flash talks, which will be presented in a poster-style-format.

Chairs: Lena Studt-Reinhold, Manuel Sanchez Lopez-Berges

Programme: Fusarium workshop

Neurospora Workshop

The Neurospora workshop will take place on Sunday, March 5, 2023. We are looking forward to a day of talks and discussions on all of the new developments in Neurospora research, covering all aspects from basic to applied science. Contributions on other Sordariales, such as Sordaria and Podospora are also very welcome. Oral presentations will be selected from the submitted abstracts. Students and post-docs are especially encouraged to present their work!

Chairs: Alexander Lichius, André Fleißner

Programme: Neurospora workshop

Symposium on the Basal Fungal Kingdom

  supported by ÖGMM

For the first time, a Symposium on the Basal Fungal Kingdom will be held as a satellite meeting of ECFG16, to which we would like to bring together people of all fields interested in the basal fungi of the kingdom (Mucor, Rhizopus, Phycomyces, Chytrids, Microsporidia, Rozella). We are very much looking forward to a day of talks and lively discussions on all the new developments in this versatile group of fungi, covering all aspects of genetics, genomics, host-fungal interactions, endosymbiosis, antifungal resistance, physiology and secondary metabolism.
The meeting will take place on Sunday, 5th of March, starting 9.00 am until the afternoon. Registration and abstract submission will be done via ECFG webpage (www.ecfg16.org), but we encourage people to get in touch before and those who would like to present to send a tentative title and a short abstract to This email address is being protected from spambots. Further information will be provided once we know the detailed programme.
We are very much looking forward to meeting you in the center of the Alps!

Chairs: Ulrike Binder (Medical University of Innsbruck), Luis Corrochano (University of Seville), Victoriano Garre (University of Murcia), Joe Heitman (Duke University)

Programme: Symposium on the basal fungal kingdom

Colletotrichum Workshop

The Colletotrichum workshop will take place on the 5th of March 2023. The purpose of the workshop is sharing knowledge, exchange of expertise and new advances on the genus Colletotrichum.
For this, we are welcoming oral contributions of 20 minutes covering all aspects of fundamental and applied research including but not limited to genetics, pathogen-host interactions, evolution, taxonomy, genomics and secondary metabolites.
Participation of PhD students and young researchers is particularly encouraged.

Chairs: Elena Baraldi, Henrik Hjarvard de Fine Licht

Programme: Colletotrichum Workshop

Trichoderma & Clonostachys Workshop

The purpose of this workshop is to share current research on the Trichoderma and Clonostachys genera. This one-day meeting will take place on March 5th and will include oral contributions, including invited talks (25 min), short talks (10 min) and speed talks (3 min). When submitting your abstract, please do indicate at the end of the abstract the preferential session and if you prefer to present your work in s short talk or speed talk.
Within this meeting, we will cover all aspects of fundamental and applied research including genetics, evolution, functional genomics, biotechnology, biocontrol, CAZyme expression, host-fungal interactions, secondary metabolism and molecular tool development.
The provisional program has been set as follows:
Session I. Biotechnology and applied mycology
Session II Biology and biocontrol
Session III Evolution, taxonomy and genome dynamics
Session IV Gene regulation, signal transduction and epigenetics

Chairs: Bernhard Seiboth, Magnus Karlsson
